SILENT BEAM

SILENT BEAM is the resilient profile for floor battens designed for the sound insulation of timber structures.

Thanks to the special viscoelastic mixture, the product is able to insulate at very low frequencies, even with low loads.

Made of an open-cell expanded polyurethane compound, SILENT BEAM is chemically stable.

Polyurethane ensures elastic behaviour over time, keeping its ability to deform under dynamic stresses unchanged.

Based on the different loads acting upon the profile, excellent soundproofing values are achieved, even on light floors with little mass.

SILENT BEAM is laid dry without the need for chemical glues, and is free of substances harmful for people and the environment.

Supply and installation of resilient profile for floor battens with dry system, type SILENT BEAM

Composition:

  • Opened-cell expanded polyurethane mixture. Chemically stable and free of harmful substances

Properties:

  • Reaction to fire : classe E
  • Elastic modulus 10% (MPa) : 0,048
  • Maximum temperature of use [°C] : 120
  • Elongation at failure [%] : ≥ 400

Suitable for timber-to-timber installation to create a physical and mechanical separation between the two elements, thus avoiding the transmission of vibrations caused by impact sound. To increase the vibration absorption capacity, it is advisable to install the profile both below and above the timber floor. SILENT BEAM is an elastic release liner that is placed over the battens in a dry system floor. Apply the profile over the top section of the beam or batten and then place the board.
