The HERO work helmet is manufactured according to strict standards ensuring protection against impact on flat surfaces and sharp edges. The EN 397:2025 Type II certification covers top and lateral impacts, ensuring front, side and vertical protection.
Compliance with EN 50365:2023 also guarantees electrical protection in environments with electrical contact risks.
The ratchet-wheel adjustment system is not only a comfort feature, but also a critical safety factor. It ensures a correct fit and stable positioning during movement, preventing slipping that could compromise protection during impact. The ventilation system is designed not to reduce structural resistance, maintaining the mechanical integrity of the shell even under extreme temperatures.

How long does a work helmet last and when should it be replaced?
The certified HERO work helmet has a maximum lifespan of 12 years and a maximum usage period of 10 years. After every impact, the helmet must be replaced immediately. The helmet must also be inspected before and after each use. If signs of wear, cracks, deformation or chipping are detected, it must be replaced. Even without visible damage, the shell material degrades over time due to sunlight and humidity, reducing protective performance.
The ABS shell material deteriorates when exposed to UV rays, atmospheric oxygen and temperature fluctuations, becoming more brittle and reducing impact energy absorption capacity. In addition, the internal EPS foam lining progressively loses its cushioning properties. These are the reasons why manufacturers limit the service life of protective helmets.
