CONCEALED JOIST HANGERS FOR TIMBER BEAMS LOCK T MIDI
The hook plate connector for post-and-beam, pergolas and carports
LOCK T MIDI is the timber-to-timber connector in EN AW-6005A aluminium alloy for medium-size structures: floors, roofs, carports, pergolas.
The hook geometry allows a completely invisible connection between the secondary beam and the main element, with top-down installation without additional screws on site. The same system also makes the connection demountable, an important feature for prefabricated structures and reversible assembly systems.
Available in standard and EVO versions with graphite black coating for service class 3, for outdoor applications, including aggressive environments.
LOCK T MIDI connectors complete the ALUMEGA range for loads lower than 120 kN. The two systems are complementary, particularly in post-and-beam buildings: LOCK T MIDI is suitable for secondary beams, while ALUMEGA is intended for main beams, where higher performance is required.
Technical features of the LOCK T MIDI concealed connector
LOCK T MIDI is a perforated three-dimensional hook plate connector, which can be installed in a concealed, semi-concealed or visible configuration. The concealed version requires routing in the main element or in the secondary beam; the visible version does not require special cuts.
The LOCK STOP lateral locking plates and the optional 45° inclined screw preventing pull-out allow certified resistances in all load directions according to ETA-19/0831 in each configuration. The connection with routing in the main element makes it compatible with fire resistance requirements.

• ETA-19/0831 certified resistances: F_v, F_up, F_ax, F_lat
• Compatible fasteners: LBS, LBS EVO and LBS HARDWOOD EVO screws with 7 mm diameter.
Is LOCK T MIDI also suitable for inclined beams?
Yes. The connector is designed for installation on inclined beams, with both horizontal and vertical inclination. Preassembly takes place off-site: on site the beam is lowered from above into the connector, without additional screws.
When should the EVO version be selected?
The EVO version is suitable for aggressive outdoor environments and for timbers with high tannin content, such as chestnut and oak. The graphite black coating ensures service class 3. In both versions, the choice of screw – martensitic stainless steel or C4 EVO coated – provides protection according to environmental corrosivity and timber aggressiveness.
Are connections with LOCK T MIDI compatible with fire resistance requirements?
Yes, provided the connector is installed with routing in the main element. In this configuration the surrounding timber provides the necessary passive protection. For fire design, refer to the technical data sheet and MyProject software.
