POLYURETHANE FOAM INSULATION FOR SOUNDPROOF SEALING AND AIRTIGHTNESS HERMETIC FOAM

Low-expansion polyurethane foam for sealing windows, doors and linear joints

HERMETIC FOAM is a one-component polyurethane foam insulation product for soundproof and airtight sealing on timber, concrete and metal. The low-expansion polyurethane foam is ideal for sealing window and door perimeters, as well as linear joints, ensuring precise and controlled application. Waterproof and airtight even after trimming, it can be applied from +5 °C. Trimming time 20–40 minutes, full hardening in 60 minutes.

Description

Technical specifications for HERMETIC FOAM elastic polyurethane foam

HERMETIC FOAM is an elastic polyurethane foam with closed-cell structure, featuring elongation at break > 40% (EN ISO 1798) and tensile strength 0.07 MPa. It remains permanently flexible, accommodating wood movement and differential movement between building materials. Yield: 40 dm³ per 750 mL cartridge.
Key technical specifications:
— Joint soundproofing: ≥63 dB at 10 and 20 mm (EN ISO 10140-1 / EN ISO 717-1, IFT Rosenheim)
— Air permeability: ≤0.1 m³/(m·h·daPa²/³) at 20 mm (EN 12114)
— Thermal conductivity: 0.030–0.035 W/(m·K) (EN 12667 / FEICA TM1020)
— Water vapour resistance factor: μ = 20 (EN 12086)
— Reaction to fire: class B3 (DIN 4102-1) · class F (EN 13501-1)
— Service temperature after hardening: -40/+90 °C
— EMICODE EC1 Plus · French VOC classification A+ (ISO 16000)

Polyurethane foam insulation for sealing windows and doors: how is it applied?

HERMETIC FOAM is applied with a foam gun to dry substrates. The elastic polyurethane foam does not stain substrates and nor does it flake during installation or over time. It adheres to timber, concrete, metal and other construction substrates. Any excess cured material can be trimmed with a utility knife without compromising airtightness or watertightness.

Low-expansion polyurethane foam for certified soundproofing: how does it perform?

HERMETIC FOAM provides intermediate-level window protection – thermal and acoustic insulation – between windtightness and airtightness. Its soundproofing performance of ≥ 63 dB has been certified by IFT Rosenheim in accordance with EN ISO 10140-1 and EN ISO 717-1, at both 10 mm and 20 mm applied thickness.

Elastic polyurethane foam for linear joints and window perimeter sealing: why choose it?

HERMETIC FOAM's elastic structure — with elongation at break > 40% and permanent elasticity after hardening — accommodates differential movement between the frame and masonry or timber over time. Its low VOC content, certified EMICODE EC1 Plus, also makes it suitable for unrestricted use in indoor applications.
