CLIMA CONTROL 80

MEMBRANE WITH VARIABLE VAPOUR DIFFUSION

CLIMA CONTROL 80 is the membrane that controls variable water vapour inside timber structures.

It is one of Rothoblaas products tested by the PassiveHouse Institute as airtight certified components.

It is composed of a functional polyamide film with polypropylene reinforcement and is designed for application to roofs and walls on the internal side of the building envelope.

Description

CLIMA CONTROL 80, THE PASSIVEHOUSE-CERTIFIED SOLUTION THAT CHANGES FROM A VAPOUR CONTROL TO A BREATHABLE MEMBRANE

CLIMA CONTROL 80 ensures a variable resistance to water vapour diffusion. It acts as a vapour control in low humidity conditions and as a breathable membrane in high humidity conditions.

If it comes into contact with a high amount of moisture, the membrane is able to change from a vapour control to a breathable membrane, ensuring that the building envelope dries out. This ability to regulate the passage of water vapour according to climate and humidity guarantees maximum protection for timber structures.

It is the ideal membrane for increasing the energy performance of packages and solutions for reconditioning existing structures: it can in fact be used with insulation from the inside of the building envelope, guaranteeing the structure total protection from the formation of interstitial condensation. Transparent, it is extremely easy to install.

Description

The application surface must be dry, free of dust and grease. Surface elements must be removed so that the membrane is not damaged during application.

Once applied, the product allows for easy visibility of powder tracer markings and underlying mounting holes.

Recommended use: direct UV protection is not guaranteed. Installation is therefore intended on the interior side of the building envelope, where only indirect UV exposure occurs.

Suitable for energy retrofit applications due to its ability to dynamically adapt to relative humidity. It is breathable when internal relative humidity is too high, and serves as a vapour control layer when internal humidity is at suitable levels.

Installation: Unroll the membrane and seal using tape such as: INVISI BAND, FLEXY BAND, SPEEDY BAND o EASY BAND.

Ensure that the overlap between the membranes is at least 15 cm to achieve an optimal seal.

Each layer must be fixed to the substrate with a mechanical fastening device to ensure installation stability.

To ensure correct and professional installation, the use of a nail sealing point is required.

Further details regarding installation can be found in the specific instructions provided by the supplier.
