Pinned connection for Post-and-Beam
Concealed timber connectors are used when high structural resistance must be combined with a completely invisible finish.
The ALUMEGA concealed timber connector is designed for beam-to-beam and beam-to-post connections in Post-and-Beam systems, also with large spans. The modular HP, HVG, JVG, JS components solve all types of connections on timber, concrete or steel.
The 8 mm axial tolerance (± 4 mm) adapts to installation inaccuracies without compromising structural behaviour. The connection can be preassembled in the factory and completed on site with simple steel bolts, reducing assembly time and costs.
##Technical characteristics of the ALUMEGA concealed timber connector
ALUMEGA is a concealed timber connector made of EN AW-6082 aluminium alloy, available in HP, HVG, JVG, JS versions, with heights from 240 to 840 mm and the possibility for cutting every 60 mm.
The slotted holes on the web guarantee rotational compatibility and hinge structural behaviour. This configuration is compatible with inter-story drift caused by seismic and wind actions. The upper countersink allows the use of a bolt as a positioning aid. All versions are designed for completely invisible connections, with optional fire protection through FIRE STRIPE GRAPHITE.

Invisible connections for glulam beams: which version?
The HVG and JVG versions with inclined VGS screws or JS with STA/SBD dowels are suitable for glulam beams, LVL and hardwood.
The JIG VGS jigs guarantee precise drilling. The axial tolerance and the partial or total fastening options allow balancing of the resistance between the main and secondary connector, achieving high load-bearing capacities.
Concealed timber-to-concrete connection: is it possible with ALUMEGA?
Yes, the HP version is designed for direct fastening on concrete with VIN-FIX chemical anchors and on steel.
With VIN-FIX Ø12×245 mm anchors or MEGABOLT bolts, ALUMEGA can achieve resistances up to 541 kN on C25/30 concrete, maintaining the connection completely concealed also in hybrid timber-concrete or timber-steel structures.
