SUBSTRATE MADE OF HIGH DENSITY NPE POLYETHYLENE WITH PE FILM SERVING AS A VAPOUR BARRIER

SILENT STEP

SILENT STEP is the high-density substrate for sound insulation with the function of vapour barrier.

It is a self-sealing solution: thanks to the integrated adhesive tape, sealing is immediate and does not need further adhesive solutions.

Sound insulation and vapour barrier in a single solution: for soundproofing of your timber structure you can rely on the SILENT STEP self-sealing substrate.

SILENT STEP is a universal product that ensures good soundproofing and waterproofing performance thanks to its chemical and mechanical characteristics.

The polyethylene film coating prevents the passage of humidity, protecting the floor thanks to a performance equivalent to an SD value of more than 75 m.

The compound, thickness and coating make it suitable for installation with various floating floors.

It is chemically stable and does not contain harmful substances or VOCs.

Specifications

Supply and installation of substrate made of high density NPE polyethylene with PE film serving as a vapour barrier, type SILENT STEP

Properties:

  • Thickness [mm] : 2
  • Water vapour transmission Sd [m] : > 75

Suitable for timber-to-timber installation to create a physical and mechanical separation between the two elements, thus avoiding the transmission of vibrations caused by impact sound. To increase the vibration absorption capacity, it is advisable to install the profile both below and above the timber floor. Install the profile on the upper section of the wall and fix it mechanically with staples every 40/60 cm. Then install the horizontal panel of the floor and repeat the operation.
