One-handed bar clamp: installation without damaging surfaces
CRAB MINI is a woodworking clamp designed for installing timber boards on decking and façades. Operated with one hand, it applies and releases pressure in a progressive and controlled manner. Integrated rubber pads protect the surface of the timber board from marks and deformation during fastening.
The adjustable opening from 263 to 415 mm adapts to boards of any width. With a maximum compression force of 200 kg, it delivers enough pulling force to compensate for the dimensional variations of timber, ensuring uniform joints during installation.
CRAB MINI is compatible with any type of timber and can also be used for vertical applications, such as wall cladding installation. For larger surfaces or oversized boards, it can be paired with CRAB MAXI, the Rothoblaas woodworking bar clamp with an opening capacity of up to 770 mm.

What is the difference between a woodworking clamp and a traditional clamp for timber board installation?
A woodworking clamp is specifically designed to pull timber boards together and hold them in position during installation, progressively applying traction force. A traditional clamp, by contrast, is generally used in workshops to glue or secure components, making it less suitable for on-site processes.
Outdoor timber boards naturally tend to warp, without being perfectly straight. CRAB MINI brings boards back into position during installation, keeping them securely aligned until final fastening on both horizontal and vertical surfaces and with any type of timber.
When are spacers used in timber decking installation?
Spacers are used during installation to maintain a consistent joint width between boards. They are available in five thicknesses to suit different timber board widths and project specifications.
The choice of spacer thickness depends on the type of timber, board width and installation conditions. Correct spacing improves surface ventilation and compensates for the natural expansion and contraction of timber caused by moisture and temperature changes.
