BEAM PULLER FOR JOINING WOODEN BEAMS SKORPIO
SKORPIO: beam puller for joining solid wood beams
SKORPIO is the Rothoblaas beam puller for pressure clamping and joining multiple timber elements: solid timber, CLT, beams, walls and floor slabs.
The 400–700 mm adjustment range adapts to different distances between elements to be pulled together and clamped during installation.
No special tools are required for assembly or removal of the beam puller: just a hammer.
The hooks can be quickly replaced in the case of wear using the SKORPIOS accessory, sold separately.
Ratchet tool for woodworking: technical specifications
SKORPIO consists of two components: the galvanised steel hook and a reversible ratchet made from galvanised cast steel.
The hook features serrations on all 4 sides with a tapered shape, allowing it to penetrate between the wood fibres and distribute the force over a larger surface area. The rounded contact surface protects the material. The joints are riveted rather than welded, providing greater resistance under cyclic loading.
The ratchet, fitted with an ergonomic PVC handle, enables progressive and controlled tightening. With the optional CLAMP1 accessory, GEKO can also be adapted to fasten perforated plates and bracing elements.
Key technical features:
• Adjustment range 400–700 mm
• 4-sided serrated hook with Ø8 mm hole
• Riveted joints for resistance under cyclic loading
• Reversible ratchet with slow-pitch thread
• Replaceable hooks using the SKORPIOS accessory
• Compatible with GEKO – same base system
How can solid wood beams be joined using a ratchet beam puller?
SKORPIO is positioned on the timber elements to be joined, the hooks are driven in with a hammer, and the ratchet is operated until the required pressure is achieved. Once fastening is complete, a single hammer blow on the hook releases the tool.
Is SKORPIO compatible with other timber construction tools?
Yes. SKORPIO shares the same base system as GEKO: the two products are interchangeable within the woodworking tool set without adaptors.
With the optional CLAMP1 accessory, SKORPIO can also be adapted to fasten perforated plates and bracing elements, expanding the application range of the same tool.
SKORPIO or GEKO: which tool should you choose for timber construction?
SKORPIO is the beam puller with serrated hooks designed for joining solid wood beams. GEKO is the panel puller with 360° rotating plates for assembling walls, floor slabs and glulam elements, including in hard-to-reach spaces.
The two products share the same base systems and are interchangeable within the woodworking tool set. The choice depends on whether you need a beam puller or a panel puller: SKORPIO for beams, GEKO for panels and walls.
