LB HOLE CUTTER

DRILL BIT – HEAVY-DUTY CORE BIT FOR TIMBER AND PANELS

The LB Hole Cutter drill bit is a heavy-duty cutting tool designed to create large-diameter holes in mass timber panels and solid timber elements.

Whether you’re working with CLT, LVL, glulam, or structural lumber, this high-performance core bit ensures fast, clean cuts with exceptional precision. Ideal for service penetrations in beams and panels, it is built to meet the demands of modern timber construction.

Outfitted with tungsten carbide (HM) blades that can be resharpened or replaced individually, the tool offers extended service life and reduced long-term costs.

Description

High-Performance Core Bit for Deep Drilling

The LB Hole Cutter is engineered for deep drilling capacity, achieving a cutting depth of 300 mm | 12 inches, making it suitable even for the thickest timber assemblies and multi-layer panels.
It allows fast and clean core removal, minimising interruptions during high-volume tasks and ensuring maximum productivity on site.
It alows for quick extraction of the timber core after drilling, minimising interruption during high-volume tasks.

Unlike conventional systems, it requires no pilot bit, simplifying setup and delivering centered, accurate cuts.
The tool is compatible with rotary drills, drill presses and column-mounted drill setups, ensuring precise performance both in workshops and on job sites.

Typical applications include creating MEP penetrations in CLT, LVL and glulam panels, drilling through solid timber beams and engineered timber panels, and working with sawn lumber and layered timber floors or walls.

With a diameter range from 42 mm to 322 mm | 1.65 inches to 12.68 inches and compatibility with adapters such as SDS-Plus, SDS-Max, hexagonal drive and quick-release, the LB Hole Cutter offers exceptional versatility in prefabrication facilities as well as on demanding construction sites.

What is a core bit and how does it differ from a hole cutter drill bit?
A core bit is a cutting tool that removes a cylinder of material to create precise openings in timber or other substrates.
A hole cutter drill bit, while similar in purpose, is designed for faster cutting and cleaner finishes. The LB Hole Cutter combines the precision of a core bit with the efficiency of a hole cutter, making it ideal for modern timber construction.
