Fast and efficient mass timber lifting: the RAPTOR MINI rigging plate with integrated folding lifting eye
RAPTOR MINI is the small rigging plate by Rothoblaas designed for mass timber elements on site and in production: solid timber or glulam beams, CLT panels, prefabricated wall panels, glulam columns and posts, and lightweight prefabricated roof structures.
Thanks to its 2-screw fastening, RAPTOR MINI can be installed in just a few seconds — ideal for efficient workflows in both modular construction and on and off site. The integrated folding lifting eye ensures safe and flexible handling, even in confined spaces where larger CLT lifting devices can't be used.
The compact screw-in lifting plate has a maximum working load limit of 1,500 kg. Certified in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, its compact dimensions (60×120 mm, 8 mm thick) make it ideal for medium-weight structural elements and applications where quick installation and a compact footprint are priorities.
RAPTOR MINI: lift glulam beams, CLT panels and glulam columns with three compatible screw types
RAPTOR MINI is compatible with three types of connector: VGS PLATE Ø11 mm, HBS PLATE/HBS PLATE EVO Ø10 mm and VGS Ø11 mm with HUS10 washer. Compatibility with reusable VGSPL structural screws allows the fasteners to be recovered after timber handling and lifting, reducing waste and costs compared with single-use solutions.
To lift glulam beams and horizontal CLT panels, the working load limit with VGSPL11240 is 1,500 kg at β=0°; the effective screw length must comply with lef ≥ 0.7·d. For use on vertical columns (minimum cross-section 100×160 mm), a working load limit of 535 kg can be achieved with VGSPL11280. Permitted lifting angles: 0°–60°.
How is RAPTOR MINI used to erect prefabricated wall panels and glulam columns on site?
RAPTOR MINI is installed using 2 screws of the same type and length, observing the minimum edge distances. For prefabricated wall panels (minimum thickness 100 mm): a3,C ≥ 100 mm. The screw length must be at least 0.7 times the depth of the element (lef ≥ 0.7·d).
The integrated folding lifting eye connects to the crane hook and allows lifting at angles of up to 60°. Thanks to its compact dimensions (60×120 mm), RAPTOR MINI can also be used in confined spaces and to transport vertical columns (minimum cross-section 100×160 mm) — a specific application not provided for with the standard RAPTOR plate.
