How to achieve invisible fastening on timber boards with concealed screws

KKT COLOR concealed screws are specifically designed for outdoor use on timber and WPC boards, combining concealed aesthetics with long-lasting corrosion protection. The small conical head blends perfectly with different types of timber thanks to the various available colours (brown, grey, green, sand, black), ensuring a consistent and professional look in external wall cladding projects.

The reverse underhead thread (left-hand thread) ensures excellent pull-down capacity, essential for fasteners in outdoor environments exposed to variable climates and mechanical stress. The tri-lobe thread cuts through the timber fibres during driving, ensuring excellent penetration capacity and stable mechanical anchorage in solid timber and WPC composites.
Durability is ensured by the coloured organic anti-corrosion coating, which protects against corrosion in all environmental conditions. KKT COLOR STRIP, available in a collated version, allows fast and precise installation, making it ideal for large-scale projects compatible with KMR 3372 screw guns.

Description

Technical specifications and compatibility of KKT COLOR concealed screws with timber and WPC substrates

KKT COLOR concealed screws are manufactured from carbon steel with a coloured organic anti-corrosion coating, ensuring superior performance in service classes SC1, SC2 and SC3, and resistance in atmospheric corrosivity environments C1, C2 and C3.
Fastening performance varies according to substrate density: the screws are suitable for use without pre-drilling on timber boards with densities up to 780 kg/m³, and with pre-drilling on timber boards with densities up to 880 kg/m³, ensuring flexibility across multiple timber species.

For vertical surfaces (such as façades), the use of these screws as visible fasteners is not recommended.
The combination of the small conical head and tri-lobe thread creates optimal mechanical anchorage in non-acidic timber classified in corrosion classes T1, T2 and T3. This is particularly important for aggressive timber species where corrosion may compromise performance.
These concealed screws are also compatible with WPC boards when used with pre-drilling, ensuring versatility in hybrid external wall cladding systems.

The KKT N version is also available for fastening standard Rothoblaas FLAT and TVM clips in outdoor environments, expanding application possibilities. For vertical surfaces (such as façades), the use of these screws as visible fixings is not recommended, preserving the overall appearance of the architectural project.

Which conical-head screws: standard KKT COLOR or KKT COLOR STRIP?

Choose standard KKT COLOR for small and medium-sized projects with manual installation or conventional tools. Choose KKT COLOR STRIP (collated version) for large-scale projects where installation speed and precision are critical, compatible with KMR 3372 screw guns for automated screw driving.
